About ISCM

ISCM (International Society for Contemporary Music) was founded in Salzburg in 1922 with the aim of recognizing new trends in classical music.  In time, this organization expanded from a union of two countries (Austria and Germany) to 50 memberstates and is currently a well-organized modern music center which unites these memberstates’ composers, performing artists and concert organizers. ISCM’s task is to become an efficient global communications organization with the goal of distributing contemporary music and making it accessible to a vast public, to promote the exchange of information utilizing all possible tools of communication, as well as other activities between memberstates (concerts, festivals).  Once a year, the ISCM organizes a monumental festival, the World Music Days, which reflects contemporary music of the world.
